Description

Recycled ocean-bound solid polyester staple fibre uses recovered PET bottle feedstock for textile and industrial-fibre applications. The solid fibre is non-siliconised and intended for yarn-spinning evaluation.

This recycled ocean-bound polyester staple fibre is available in a 1.5D solid variant (Recycled 1.5D Solid Fibre). Ocean Material helps customers match the fibre specification to their intended application and coordinate sampling and sourcing. Technical data sheets, detailed specifications and supporting documentation are available on request.

Specifications

Solid polyester staple fibre; non-siliconised finish. Listed cut lengths: 32, 38, 51, 64, 76, 88 and 102 mm. Confirm the finish and cut length for the selected variant; these listed specifications do not establish availability for every variant. Other specifications require confirmation for the selected order.

Technical data sheets, detailed specifications and supporting documentation are available on request.

Applications

The material is intended for evaluation in polyester spun-yarn production for textiles and technical fabrics. Match denier, cut length and the non-siliconised finish to the spinning and downstream requirements.

Origin

Countries and regions of origin: China, Indonesia, Thailand.

Recovered ocean-bound PET bottles. Ocean-bound plastic is discarded plastic at risk of entering the ocean, for example where collection and waste management are inadequate. This classification does not mean that the material was recovered directly from the sea.

Sustainability & Impact

Using recovered ocean-bound feedstock returns discarded plastic to material applications. The useful substitution of virgin material depends on the selected grade and finished-product requirements. Environmental outcomes also depend on collection, preparation, processing and transport; no quantified carbon saving is implied.

Quality & Traceability

Ocean Material coordinates specification review, material selection and sample evaluation. Available origin and batch documentation are reviewed for the selected supply rather than assumed to cover every sourcing country or grade.

Source Certification: Source Certified. Supporting origin documentation is reviewed for the selected material and supply.

Existing certification records list Global Recycling Standard, OEKO-TEX. The applicable certificate, covered material and supply scope must be checked for the selected order; this is not blanket coverage for every grade or origin.

Compliance: REACH information is available on request for review against the intended material and market. REACH is a regulatory framework, not a product certificate.

Existing supporting-documentation references include OBP, OceanCycle and GRS. Request the applicable evidence for the selected material, grade and supply; these references do not establish coverage for every sourcing option.

Carbon Footprint & LCA

Life cycle assessments (LCAs) are available for selected materials and production sites within our partner network. Availability and scope vary by material grade, production location and supply chain.

Looking to assess the carbon footprint of your material choice? Tell us about your application, performance requirements and sourcing needs. We will review the available environmental data with our partners and help identify suitable material options for your project.

FAQ

How does this fibre differ from the other PSF listing?

Solid; non-siliconised. Available denier variants are listed in the Description; confirm the selected specification before ordering.

Which cut lengths are listed?

32, 38, 51, 64, 76, 88 and 102 mm. Confirm the selected combination before ordering.

What applications should I discuss?

The material is intended for evaluation in polyester spun-yarn production for textiles and technical fabrics. Match denier, cut length and the non-siliconised finish to the spinning and downstream requirements.

What is ocean-bound plastic?

Ocean-bound plastic is discarded plastic at risk of entering the ocean, for example where collection and waste management are inadequate. This classification does not mean that the material was recovered directly from the sea.

Is this material recovered directly from the ocean?

Ocean-bound describes material at risk of entering the ocean. It does not on its own mean recovery from the sea. The documented origin is checked for the selected supply.

How can I request samples and technical documents?

Technical data sheets, detailed specifications and supporting documentation are available on request. Use the material inquiry button with your application, specification, quantity and delivery destination. Sampling conditions are set out in Ordering & Lead Time.
