Specifications

The material is recycled PET (rPET) in Clear flake form, classified as Ocean-Bound Plastic. Hot-washed grades are available.

Colour, flake size, cleanliness and intrinsic viscosity (IV) are criteria for material selection. Washing quality, moisture and residual contamination requirements are reviewed against the customer's processing route. Available grades and their specifications are confirmed during sourcing; these characteristics are not assumed to be identical across all origins. Applications

Potential application paths include polyester fibres, PET sheet, strapping and further PET processing. Suitability depends on the selected grade, specification and processing route, including the customer's colour and cleanliness requirements.

Food-contact or bottle-to-bottle suitability is not automatic and requires separate confirmation for the material and processing route.

Origin

The existing sourcing countries and regions are Africa, China, Ecuador, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia and Vietnam.

The feedstock is recovered post-consumer PET bottles, including water and beverage bottles. Existing source information includes collection in Chinese coastal regions at risk of ocean leakage; this describes that source and is not applied to every country listed. Available collection and origin documentation is reviewed for the selected supply. Ocean-bound does not mean that the material was recovered from the sea.

Ocean-bound plastic is discarded plastic at risk of entering the ocean, for example where collection and waste management are inadequate. This classification does not mean that the material was recovered directly from the sea.

Sustainability & Impact

Returning ocean-bound PET bottles to new material applications supports the use of recovered plastic as a resource for further PET processing. Material preparation, the selected grade, processing and supply chain influence environmental performance. No fixed recycled-content percentage, quantified carbon saving or specific social-project benefit is claimed here.

Quality & Traceability

Ocean Material supports material selection, sampling and the review of available origin documentation. Colour, washing quality, flake size, intrinsic viscosity, moisture and foreign-material content are aligned with the customer's specification and processing requirements.

Available certificates, their scope and their applicability to the selected grade and supply are reviewed on request. Documentation for one supply line is not automatically applicable to all sourcing countries.

Source Certification: Source Certified. Supporting origin documentation is reviewed for the selected material and supply.

Existing certification records list Global Recycling Standard. The applicable certificate, covered material and supply scope must be checked for the selected order; this is not blanket coverage for every grade or origin.

Compliance: REACH information is available on request for review against the intended material and market. REACH is a regulatory framework, not a product certificate.
