Description
Clear recycled ocean-bound PET pellets are a pelletised feedstock derived from recovered PET bottles. They are distinct from Clear PET flakes and from the separately listed food-grade pellet range. The selected grade determines the technical specification and the requirements for further processing.
Ocean Material supports material selection, specification alignment and sample evaluation, and coordinates sourcing for the intended application. Technical data sheets, detailed specifications and supporting documentation are available on request.
Specifications
PET in pellet form. Clear; pelletised bottle-derived PET. The selected specification and any test conditions are confirmed using the appropriate TDS.
Technical data sheets, detailed specifications and supporting documentation are available on request.
Applications
Potential applications include sheet extrusion, thermoforming, injection moulding and blow moulding. Review clarity, grade suitability and any food-contact requirements for the finished application; a Clear colour designation is not an approval.
Origin
Countries and regions of origin: China, Ecuador, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Vietnam.
Recovered ocean-bound PET bottles. Ocean-bound plastic is discarded plastic at risk of entering the ocean, for example where collection and waste management are inadequate. This classification does not mean that the material was recovered directly from the sea.
Sustainability & Impact
Using recovered ocean-bound feedstock returns discarded plastic to material applications. The useful substitution of virgin material depends on the selected grade and finished-product requirements. Environmental outcomes also depend on collection, preparation, processing and transport; no quantified carbon saving is implied.
Quality & Traceability
Ocean Material coordinates specification review, material selection and sample evaluation. Available origin and batch documentation are reviewed for the selected supply rather than assumed to cover every sourcing country or grade.
Source Certification: Source Certified. Supporting origin documentation is reviewed for the selected material and supply.
Existing certification records list Global Recycling Standard. The applicable certificate, covered material and supply scope must be checked for the selected order; this is not blanket coverage for every grade or origin.
Compliance: REACH information is available on request for review against the intended material and market. REACH is a regulatory framework, not a product certificate.
Existing supporting-documentation references include OBP, OceanCycle and GRS. Request the applicable evidence for the selected material, grade and supply; these references do not establish coverage for every sourcing option.
Carbon Footprint & LCA
Life cycle assessments (LCAs) are available for selected materials and production sites within our partner network. Availability and scope vary by material grade, production location and supply chain.
Looking to assess the carbon footprint of your material choice? Tell us about your application, performance requirements and sourcing needs. We will review the available environmental data with our partners and help identify suitable material options for your project.
