Description

Our Recycled PET Ocean-Bound Food Grade pellets turn recovered ocean-bound PET plastic into a material resource for new packaging applications. Available in Milky Grey and White, with an intrinsic viscosity (IV) of 0.6–0.8 dL/g across the offered grades, the range supports material selection for PET bottles, containers and sheet-based packaging.

Ocean Material helps customers match the appropriate grade to their application, processing requirements and sourcing needs. Food-contact suitability and supporting documentation are reviewed for the selected grade, intended use and target market. Technical data sheets and further specifications are available on request.

Specifications

Recycled PET (rPET) pellets made from recovered ocean-bound PET plastic are available in Milky Grey and White. The available intrinsic-viscosity range is IV 0.6–0.8 dL/g across the offered grades. This is a range of grade options, not a specification or tolerance for a single grade. The appropriate grade and its specific technical requirements are agreed with the customer using the relevant TDS.

Applications

Suitable grades can be selected for PET bottles and containers, PET sheet and thermoformed packaging. Material selection depends on the processing requirements, finished application and food-contact documentation required for the target market. Ocean Material helps coordinate the grade and specification for the proposed use; suitability is not assumed to be identical across all grades.

Origin

The feedstock is recovered ocean-bound PET plastic. The existing country options are China, Honduras, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand. The applicable source and documentation are clarified for the selected grade and supply. Ocean-bound describes the feedstock classification; it does not mean that this material was recovered from the sea.

Ocean-bound plastic is discarded plastic at risk of entering the ocean, for example where collection and waste management are inadequate. This classification does not mean that the material was recovered directly from the sea.

Sustainability & Impact

Recovering ocean-bound PET returns previously used plastic to new material applications. Appropriate grades can provide a recycled material option for new packaging, subject to the processing and product requirements. Environmental performance depends on the selected grade and supply chain; no fixed recycled-content percentage or quantified carbon saving is stated here.

Quality & Traceability

Ocean Material coordinates the selection of the grade, its specification and the required traceability and compliance documentation. The relevant TDS and supporting records are reviewed against the intended processing route, end application and target market. Food-contact suitability is assessed for that selection, not treated as a blanket approval for every grade or market.

The scope of the listed certifications and available traceability records must be checked for the selected material and supply. Contact us to clarify the applicable documents before qualification and ordering.

Source Certification: Source Certified. Supporting origin documentation is reviewed for the selected material and supply.

Existing certification records list Global Recycling Standard. The applicable certificate, covered material and supply scope must be checked for the selected order; this is not blanket coverage for every grade or origin.

Compliance: REACH information is available on request for review against the intended material and market. REACH is a regulatory framework, not a product certificate.

Carbon Footprint & LCA

Life cycle assessments (LCAs) are available for selected materials and production sites within our partner network. Availability and scope vary by material grade, production location and supply chain.

FAQ

Which colours are available?

Milky Grey and White are available within this product range. The product image shows Milky Grey.

What IV range is available?

IV 0.6–0.8 dL/g across the offered grades. The appropriate grade and its specific specification are agreed for the intended application.

Which applications can the material be used for?

Suitable grades can be selected for PET bottles, containers and sheet-based or thermoformed packaging. Selection depends on processing, the finished application and the required food-contact documentation.

How is food-contact suitability established?

The supporting documentation is reviewed for the selected grade, intended end use and target market. A general product description does not replace that application-specific review.

Is this material recovered directly from the ocean?

Ocean-bound describes material at risk of entering the ocean. It does not on its own mean recovery from the sea. The documented origin is checked for the selected supply.

How can I request samples and technical documents?

Technical data sheets, detailed specifications and supporting documentation are available on request. Use the material inquiry button with your application, specification, quantity and delivery destination. Sampling conditions are set out in Ordering & Lead Time.
