Description

Our Recycled PP Ocean-Bound White FDA pellets provide a recycled polypropylene option for packaging and moulded-product applications. Made from 100% post-consumer recycled ocean-bound PP, the range is available in White with MFI grades of 3–5, 4–7 and 8–12. The different grades allow material selection to be matched to the intended application and processing requirements.

Ocean Material helps customers select the appropriate grade, evaluate samples and coordinate sourcing. For food-contact projects, we review the relevant FDA documentation, permitted uses and target-market requirements with the customer. Technical data sheets, detailed specifications and supporting documentation are available on request.

Specifications

The material is recycled polypropylene (rPP) made from 100% post-consumer recycled ocean-bound PP plastic, supplied as White pellets. Available MFI grades are 3–5, 4–7 and 8–12.

MFI 3–12 in the product name summarises the offered grades. It is not the tolerance of a single grade or a continuously adjustable range. The appropriate grade and its specification are confirmed during material selection. Technical data sheets and detailed specifications are available on request.

Applications

The range is intended for packaging, containers and moulded products. Depending on the selected grade, potential processing routes include injection moulding, extrusion, blow moulding or compression moulding. Suitability for the intended product and process is agreed through specification review and sampling.

Food-contact applications are limited to the documented permitted uses. The selected grade, end application and target-market requirements must be reviewed; no blanket suitability for all foods, temperatures or packaging processes is implied.

Origin

The existing sourcing countries are China and Taiwan. The feedstock is post-consumer ocean-bound polypropylene plastic. Ocean-bound is a feedstock classification and does not mean that the plastic was recovered from the sea. Available origin documentation is reviewed for the selected grade and supply.

Ocean-bound plastic is discarded plastic at risk of entering the ocean, for example where collection and waste management are inadequate. This classification does not mean that the material was recovered directly from the sea.

Sustainability & Impact

Made from 100% post-consumer recycled content, this range returns ocean-bound PP to new material applications. It provides a recycled polypropylene option for suitable packaging and moulded-product projects. Environmental performance depends on the selected grade, processing, supply chain and end application; no quantified carbon saving is claimed here.

Quality & Traceability

Ocean Material coordinates grade selection, sampling and specification alignment, together with available origin and compliance documentation.

The FDA reference concerns the relevant Letter-of-No-Objection documentation and its documented permitted uses. The selected grade, end application and target market are reviewed with the customer. This documentation does not automatically establish EU food-contact approval.

Source Certification: Source Certified. Supporting origin documentation is reviewed for the selected material and supply.

Existing certification records list Global Recycling Standard. The applicable certificate, covered material and supply scope must be checked for the selected order; this is not blanket coverage for every grade or origin.

Compliance: REACH information is available on request for review against the intended material and market. REACH is a regulatory framework, not a product certificate.

Carbon Footprint & LCA

Life cycle assessments (LCAs) are available for selected materials and production sites within our partner network. Availability and scope vary by material grade, production location and supply chain.

FAQ

What colour is available?

White.

Which MFI grades are available?

3–5, 4–7 and 8–12. The appropriate grade is selected against your application and processing requirements.

Why does the product name say MFI 3–12?

It summarises the offered grades. It is not a single-grade tolerance or a continuously adjustable range. The specific grade and specification are agreed during material selection.

Is the material suitable for food contact?

For the documented permitted applications. The selected grade, end application and target market are reviewed against the relevant FDA Letter-of-No-Objection documentation and applicable requirements; this does not automatically establish EU approval.

Is this material recovered directly from the ocean?

Ocean-bound describes material at risk of entering the ocean. It does not on its own mean recovery from the sea. The documented origin is checked for the selected supply.

How can I request samples and technical documents?

Technical data sheets, detailed specifications and supporting documentation are available on request. Use the material inquiry button with your application, specification, quantity and delivery destination. Sampling conditions are set out in Ordering & Lead Time.
