Description
Our Recycled PP Ocean-Bound Clear pellets provide a recycled polypropylene option for customers seeking a clear-colour material with a defined melt flow index. Available in two distinct grades, MFI 5 and MFI 27, the product allows material selection to be matched to the intended application and processing requirements.
Sourced from China and made from recovered ocean-bound polypropylene, the pellets return plastic to productive use in new material applications. Ocean Material helps customers select the appropriate grade, evaluate samples and coordinate sourcing according to their specification, volume and delivery needs. Technical data sheets, detailed specifications and supporting traceability documentation are available on request.
Specifications
The material is recycled polypropylene (rPP) from ocean-bound feedstock, supplied as Clear pellets. It is offered in two distinct grades: MFI 5 or MFI 27.
The two grades belong to this single product listing. They are separate options, not a continuous range or the tolerance of a single grade. The appropriate grade and its specification are confirmed during material selection. Clear is the colour designation and does not guarantee the optical transparency of a finished component. Detailed technical data are available on request.
Applications
Potential application paths include injection moulding (thin-wall and standard), extrusion (profiles and sheets), packaging, automotive components and compounding. Suitability is assessed against the selected MFI 5 or MFI 27 grade, the intended application and the customer's processing and product requirements.
Origin
The material is sourced exclusively from China. Its feedstock is recovered ocean-bound polypropylene. Available origin documentation is reviewed for the selected grade and supply. Ocean-bound is a feedstock classification and does not mean that the material was recovered from the sea.
Ocean-bound plastic is discarded plastic at risk of entering the ocean, for example where collection and waste management are inadequate. This classification does not mean that the material was recovered directly from the sea.
Sustainability & Impact
Returning recovered ocean-bound PP to new material applications supports the use of plastic as a material resource. Environmental performance depends on material preparation, the selected grade, processing, supply chain and end application. No fixed recycled-content percentage or quantified carbon saving is claimed here.
Quality & Traceability
Ocean Material coordinates grade selection, sample enquiries and specification alignment with the customer's application and processing requirements. The appropriate technical data sheet and available origin and traceability documents can be reviewed for the selected grade and supply.
Source Certification: Source Certified. Supporting origin documentation is reviewed for the selected material and supply.
Carbon Footprint & LCA
Life cycle assessments (LCAs) are available for selected materials and production sites within our partner network. Availability and scope vary by material grade, production location and supply chain.

FAQ
What colour are the pellets?
Clear. This is the material's colour designation, not a guarantee of optical transparency in the finished component.
Where does the material originate?
China. The feedstock is recovered ocean-bound polypropylene.
Which MFI grades are available?
Two distinct grades: MFI 5 or MFI 27. These are separate options within one product listing, not a continuous range or a single-grade tolerance.
How do I choose the appropriate grade?
Share your application and processing requirements with Ocean Material so that the specification and sample evaluation can be aligned with your project.
Is this material recovered directly from the ocean?
Ocean-bound describes material at risk of entering the ocean. It does not on its own mean recovery from the sea. The documented origin is checked for the selected supply.
How can I request samples and technical documents?
Technical data sheets, detailed specifications and supporting documentation are available on request. Use the material inquiry button with your application, specification, quantity and delivery destination. Sampling conditions are set out in Ordering & Lead Time.
