Description

Our Recycled PP Ocean-Bound Green-Grey Yarn Grade is a polypropylene pellet grade intended for yarn production. Made from recovered ocean-bound PP plastic in Thailand, it provides a recycled material option for textile and industrial yarn projects. The pellets have a green-grey colour and an approximate melt flow index (MFI) of 6.

Ocean Material helps customers match the grade to their yarn application, processing requirements and sourcing needs. We coordinate material selection, sampling and access to technical documentation to support evaluation before production. Technical data sheets and further specifications are available on request.

Specifications

This recycled polypropylene (PP) material is supplied as Green-Grey pellets from ocean-bound feedstock. It is a Yarn Grade, with MFI approximately 6. The specification is confirmed during material selection using the appropriate TDS. Detailed technical information is available after contact with Ocean Material.

Applications

The material is intended for polypropylene yarn production for textile and industrial applications. Suitability for the customer's yarn and processing route is assessed through specification review and sampling. Share your intended yarn application and processing requirements so that we can coordinate material evaluation before production.

Origin

The material originates in Thailand and uses recovered ocean-bound polypropylene plastic as feedstock. Ocean-bound describes the feedstock classification; it does not mean that the material was recovered from the sea. Origin and available supporting documentation are clarified for the intended supply.

Ocean-bound plastic is discarded plastic at risk of entering the ocean, for example where collection and waste management are inadequate. This classification does not mean that the material was recovered directly from the sea.

Sustainability & Impact

Recovering ocean-bound PP returns plastic to new material applications, including suitable yarn projects. Its environmental performance depends on the material preparation, processing, supply chain and end application. No fixed recycled-content percentage or quantified carbon saving is claimed for this grade.

Quality & Traceability

Ocean Material coordinates material selection, specification alignment and sample enquiries with the supply partner. The appropriate TDS and available traceability records can be reviewed against the customer's yarn application and processing requirements. The scope and availability of supporting documentation are clarified during the enquiry and evaluation process.

Source Certification: Source Certified. Supporting origin documentation is reviewed for the selected material and supply.

Carbon Footprint & LCA

Life cycle assessments (LCAs) are available for selected materials and production sites within our partner network. Availability and scope vary by material grade, production location and supply chain.
