Description
This lightweight double-brushed knit is produced by our partner textile mills using recycled polyester yarns. The listed fabric weight is 160 g/m², with soft surfaces on both sides and thermal insulation listed in the specification. It is a candidate for lightweight mid-layers and outerwear where this brushed construction meets the garment requirements.
Ocean Material helps you select the fabric weight, construction and handle and coordinates yarn and finishing requirements with the partner mill. We aim to maximise the feasible use of certified Ocean Material yarn for the selected fabric, with yarn origin, recycled content and certification scope agreed for the project.
Send us your application, material requirements, preferred construction, required quantity and delivery destination so we can develop the inquiry with the appropriate textile mill.
Specifications
Recycled polyester double-brushed knit; 160 g/m². This is the lightweight option, distinct from the 330 g/m² construction. Width, finishing and detailed construction are agreed for the selected fabric.
Technical data sheets, detailed specifications and supporting documentation are available on request.
Applications
It is a candidate for lightweight mid-layers and outerwear where this brushed construction meets the garment requirements. Application-specific performance and finishing are confirmed through fabric evaluation, not assumed from recycled content.
Origin
Countries of origin: China, Taiwan. This fabric listing belongs to the Ocean-Bound Plastic material stream. The actual yarn source, recycled share and certification scope are confirmed for the selected fabric and its components.
Ocean-bound plastic is discarded plastic at risk of entering the ocean, for example where collection and waste management are inadequate. This classification does not mean that the material was recovered directly from the sea.
Sustainability & Impact
Using recovered ocean-bound feedstock returns discarded plastic to material applications. The useful substitution of virgin material depends on the selected grade and finished-product requirements. Environmental outcomes also depend on collection, preparation, processing and transport; no quantified carbon saving is implied.
Quality & Traceability
Ocean Material helps align yarn selection, fabric construction and finishing with the project specification. Recycled-content claims apply only to the documented components. Sample evaluation and supporting records establish the scope for the selected fabric; a yarn certificate does not automatically cover every fabric component.
Source Certification: Source Certified. Supporting origin documentation is reviewed for the selected material and supply.
Existing certification records list Global Recycling Standard. The applicable certificate, covered material and supply scope must be checked for the selected order; this is not blanket coverage for every grade or origin.
Compliance: REACH information is available on request for review against the intended material and market. REACH is a regulatory framework, not a product certificate.
Carbon Footprint & LCA
Life cycle assessments (LCAs) are available for selected materials and production sites within our partner network. Availability and scope vary by material grade, production location and supply chain.

We used this fabric for lightweight mid-layer tops. What we liked most was the combination of warmth, low weight and a soft feel—a good match for the garments we were developing.
