Description

This lightweight stretch woven fabric is manufactured by our partner textile mills using a recycled-yarn basis. The listed blend is 83% nylon, 12% polyester and 5% spandex, at approximately 126 g/m². The specification does not quantify recycled content by component; the blend percentages must not be read as recycled-content percentages. It is a candidate for outdoor gear, performance wear and stretch garments, subject to the required weave and performance specification.

Ocean Material coordinates the fabric construction, blend and finishing with the partner mill. We assess which yarns can be supplied as certified Ocean Material yarn and aim for the highest feasible share for the project; recycled shares and certification scope must be confirmed for the chosen fabric.

Send us your application, material requirements, preferred construction, required quantity and delivery destination so we can develop the inquiry with the appropriate textile mill.

Specifications

83% nylon / 12% polyester / 5% spandex; stretch woven construction; approximately 126 g/m². Blend percentages are not recycled-content percentages; recycled shares are confirmed for the selected yarns. Width, finishing and detailed construction are agreed for the selected fabric.

Technical data sheets, detailed specifications and supporting documentation are available on request.

Applications

It is a candidate for outdoor gear, performance wear and stretch garments, subject to the required weave and performance specification. Application-specific performance and finishing are confirmed through fabric evaluation, not assumed from recycled content.

Origin

Countries of origin: China, Taiwan. This fabric listing belongs to the Ocean-Bound Plastic material stream. The actual yarn source, recycled share and certification scope are confirmed for the selected fabric and its components.

Ocean-bound plastic is discarded plastic at risk of entering the ocean, for example where collection and waste management are inadequate. This classification does not mean that the material was recovered directly from the sea.

Sustainability & Impact

Using recovered ocean-bound feedstock returns discarded plastic to material applications. The useful substitution of virgin material depends on the selected grade and finished-product requirements. Environmental outcomes also depend on collection, preparation, processing and transport; no quantified carbon saving is implied.

Quality & Traceability

Ocean Material helps align yarn selection, fabric construction and finishing with the project specification. Recycled-content claims apply only to the documented components. Sample evaluation and supporting records establish the scope for the selected fabric; a yarn certificate does not automatically cover every fabric component.

Source Certification: Source Certified. Supporting origin documentation is reviewed for the selected material and supply.

Existing certification records list Global Recycling Standard. The applicable certificate, covered material and supply scope must be checked for the selected order; this is not blanket coverage for every grade or origin.

Compliance: REACH information is available on request for review against the intended material and market. REACH is a regulatory framework, not a product certificate.

Carbon Footprint & LCA

Life cycle assessments (LCAs) are available for selected materials and production sites within our partner network. Availability and scope vary by material grade, production location and supply chain.

FAQ

What distinguishes this fabric?

Stretch woven; approximately 126 g/m².

What composition is specified?

83% nylon / 12% polyester / 5% spandex; stretch woven construction; approximately 126 g/m². Blend percentages are not recycled-content percentages; recycled shares are confirmed for the selected yarns.

Which garment applications can be considered?

It is a candidate for outdoor gear, performance wear and stretch garments, subject to the required weave and performance specification. Application-specific performance and finishing are confirmed through fabric evaluation, not assumed from recycled content.

What is ocean-bound plastic?

Ocean-bound plastic is discarded plastic at risk of entering the ocean, for example where collection and waste management are inadequate. This classification does not mean that the material was recovered directly from the sea.

Is this material recovered directly from the ocean?

Ocean-bound describes material at risk of entering the ocean. It does not on its own mean recovery from the sea. The documented origin is checked for the selected supply.

How can I request samples and technical documents?

Technical data sheets, detailed specifications and supporting documentation are available on request. Use the material inquiry button with your application, specification, quantity and delivery destination. Sampling conditions are set out in Ordering & Lead Time.
